It is estimated that 73% of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon lack the proper documentation needed to stay. This is creating a crisis as refugees are living in conditions which will make the spread of COVID-19 happen at a faster rate. Many believe if they seek medical help related to COVID-19, their lack of documentation will result in their deportation. Many will have to make the choice between facing COVID-19 alone or being forced back to war-torn Syria. This is not an isolated issue. Millions in the US lack proper documentation and are having to make the same choices: possibly die from COVID-19 or face deportation.
